COMMUNITY GARDENS
|
Crabtree Farms hosts, on-site, a 1 acre Community Garden. The Community Garden has forty-one plots available for rental to the community. Launched in 2001, the Community Garden at Crabtree Farms is open to all ages and gardening levels.

Becoming a Community Gardener
For a one-time seasonal fee, each gardener rents a 200 square foot plot and is provided access to tools, compost, and water. Staff members and volunteers work
with gardeners to share planting tips and organic gardening
techniques. Many varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers are planted
by the gardeners.

|
Crabtree Farms' Community Garden is the largest Community Garden
open to the public in Chattanooga. In keeping with the sustainable
mission, the Community Garden is organic,
meaning only natural pest control may be applied. Plots are tilled at the beginning of the season, and all other work is performed by the Gardeners. | |
